Public Park Improvement Group
In 2014, Fife Council committed to match the funding which would have been made available to improve the park from the s75 monies. As a consequence the Community Council were given responsibility to oversee the allocation of the funds to improve the Park facilities and visual impact.
The Public Park Improvement group was formed whose primary responsibility were to
- To develop the Public Park
- To explore new uses and activities within the Park for the whole community
- To identify development which will encourage the general use of the Park.
Since then we have seen new trees planted across the park, wild flower beds developed and significant level of tidying carried out.
The MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) court is now open and is a huge success. The Childrens' play area refurbishment has been completed and the skate park will be developed over the summer months.
The Community Garden has commenced on the top level tennis court and should be completed over the nest month or so. The lower level will be grassed over, with the long term view of installing an older children's play area.
Wild flower beds have been created and extended to help bring more colour to the park. We have also agreed to install some hanging baskets on the path from the hall street entrance.
We are also keen to develop the old athletics track. We welcome your views on this as well as other ideas you may have to make the park an area we can all be proud off.
Please see the publication section for the Chairpersons' annual report on progress made.
Working with the Staff from Streets, Parks and Open spaces our park is starting to look like a place we can all enjoy.
The Public Park Groups consists of volunteers from the community, who are committed to making the park a better place.
If you would like to get involved then please let us know.
