Rockgelly have announced plans for the reinvigoration of the old St Andrews Church.  The Church which has been empty for a number of years will be transformed into a new state of the art rock and boulder climbing centre.

The Centre, once complete, will be one of the few hubs for the sport across Scotland and will be the Fife Hub.  It will be an attraction for climbers of all skill levels from the novice to the expert.  It will also cater for all age groups.

Lochgelly Community Council  are extremely pleased to support the project and are equally pleased that Rock Gelly have confirmed that prices will not exclude people from participating.

The plans shown will provide you with an idea of the scale of the project.  Pleasingly the main church building will be protected and indeed upgraded.  The plans show a new build at the rear of the church which will house the rock wall.  Throughout the building rock and boulder climbing facilities will be available.

The Community Council remain committed to the ongoing work to redevelop the town centre and this is another piece of evidence that we are making progress with the town.
