Microgrant Scheme for Youth Development (2025/26)
Overview
Lochgelly Community Council’s Microgrant Scheme for Youth Development will run from
30th March to 4th May 2026.
The 4 Winds SCIO has allocated funding to Lochgelly Community Council to administer this scheme for 2025/26, supporting young people who are resident within the Lochgelly
Community Council boundary.
Purpose of the Fund
The aim of the fund is to support young people aged 12–21 in achieving:
Academic development
Sporting progression
Personal or professional growth
Other recognised developmental goals
Examples of Eligible Support
Sporting Development:
Supporting a young swimmer representing Scotland at a UK tournament with
equipment, travel costs, or other reasonable expenses.
Musical Development:
Assisting a dedicated young musician who has demonstrated significant progress by
contributing towards essential musical costs such as lessons, travel, instruments, or
equipment.
Academic Development:
Enabling a young student to attend an academic workshop or conference that broadens
their educational horizons and fosters personal growth.
Funding Available
Maximum award: £350 per applicant or Group
Decisions will be made by Lochgelly Community Councillors

Applicant details
Fill in the first section:
1. Name of applicant:
Write your full name.
2. Address of applicant:
Write your full home address.
3. Contact email address:
Add an email you or your parent/carer check often.
4. If under 16:
Write the name of the adult applying for you and their relationship (e.g. “Mum”, “Carer”).
5. Age of applicant:
Write your age.
Project information
1. Describe your project:
In the lines, write:
o What you want to do
o Why you want to do it
o Who it will help
Example:
“I want to run a small football skills group for local kids to help them get active and make friends.”
2. Amount requested (max £350):
Decide how much money you need in total and write it in the £ box.
3. Please provide a rough breakdown of items and expected costs:
Use the table with Item / Resource and Estimated Cost (£).
In each row, write:
o What you need (e.g. “Football cones”, “Paint”, “Venue hire”)
o How much it will cost
In the Total row at the bottom, add all the costs together and write the total in £.
4. Other funding
1. If you have any other money for this project (from another grant, donations, your own savings), write it here.
2. If you don’t, just write:
“None” or “No other funding.”
Agreement
You’ll see three questions:
• Do you agree to submit receipts?
• Do you agree to provide updates?
• Do you agree to provide feedback?
1. Tick Yes for each if you are happy to do these things.
2. Only tick No if you really can’t do that (Yes is usually expected).
Declaration
At the bottom:
1. Signature:
o If you’re 16 or over: you sign.
o If you’re under 16: your parent/carer signs.
2. Date:
Write today’s date.
